Isaiah 61

Are You a Slave?

Slave Front
Slave Back

Isaiah 61:1

"the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives…"
The heart of the issue, in this life, is our heart. We, as humans, know God exists and the proof is that we have His moral Law on our heart, that we shouldn't steal, murder, lie (etc...) however we continually rebel against the ways of God and run toward our sin and our self, continuing in being enslaved to our sin, whether it be sexual immorality, drunkenness, blasphemy, or hatred & anger. All these sins manifest themselves in our lives as slavery to them or broken hearts within us. Many religions answer by telling you to 'DO' stuff and then you become enslaved to another thing. Yet the Bible speaks of God as HOLY and our good works before this entirely set apart God are as filthy rags. But the Bible speaks of a work that has been done! Jesus Christ, from eternity past in heaven, came and sought Her, His Bride, the Church. The Bible says He came, with His people in mind, to fully satisfy the wrath of God that they deserve on the cross. He didn't leave it at that, Jesus Christ cloaked us in His righteousness so we can be brought before the father with a perfect, HOLY, righteousness. He then adopted us as sons and daughters of the King of glory and says that we will spend eternity with Him in heaven. He also states that He will bring all of His enemies under His feet, every sinner who trusted in themselves. The Bible says 'repent' and 'believe' the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and that every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is LORD to the glory of God the Father. I urge you to do this; submit to and follow Jesus Christ here and now. Do not continue being enslaved to your sin. Do not continue in religion that says 'DO'. But look to Jesus on the Cross for the full payment for you where He said 'IT IS FINISHED!'
Pray that the Holy Spirit would change your heart of stone and turn it to a heart of flesh that would learn to love the things God loves and hate the things God hates and to worship God in Spirit and in truth.
