Curse

Blessings and Curses for the Promised Land

Moses, as a prophet of the LORD, spoke to Israel of the blessings God would bestow upon them for following Him and obeying His word, commands, and law as they entered into and lived in the land promised to Abraham. If Israel did not follow and obey, then the LORD would curse not only the land, but the people.

We then turn to the disciple John to learn how Jesus taught Israel about these promises made through Moses. We also look at how those lessons apply to us today in our day to day material life and spiritual life.

Genesis 27 - A Father's Blessing

Issac (son of Abraham) has two sons who are twins-Esau, the older, and Jacob. Esau is Abraham's favorite while Jacob is his mother's favorite. When it is time to give his final blessing to his heir, the blessing does not go to the older.

We all desire the approval of our father (or father-figure) when we don't get that approval things can spiral out of control. However, when we realize that no matter what we do, no matter how badly we screw up, there is ONE FATHER who (while not always approving) always blesses us.

Give a listen.
