Genesis 29 - A Tale of Two Sisters

Jacob has fled from his brother and travels to his uncle Laban's where he falls in love with Rachel and agrees to work seven years for her hand in marriage. Rachel has an older sister who is not as beautiful; after the seven years, Laban sends Leah (the older sister) into Jacob's marriage tent and bed. In the morning, Jacob is furious but agrees to work another seven years for Rachel. Leah is hated by Jacob, yet she bears him several sons - including Judah and Levi.

We continue to learn much about how God loves His daughters as we learn about Leah and Rachel. Listen to this tale of two sisters.

Genesis 27 - A Father's Blessing

Issac (son of Abraham) has two sons who are twins-Esau, the older, and Jacob. Esau is Abraham's favorite while Jacob is his mother's favorite. When it is time to give his final blessing to his heir, the blessing does not go to the older.

We all desire the approval of our father (or father-figure) when we don't get that approval things can spiral out of control. However, when we realize that no matter what we do, no matter how badly we screw up, there is ONE FATHER who (while not always approving) always blesses us.

Give a listen.
